Thank you to everyone who submitted to year 3 of our festival; we are really looking forward to showcasing talented filmmakers from all over the world. Currently, our festival jurors are reviewing all submissions. The official selections for our 2023 program will be announced 12/19/2022, and the festival will take place from January 2nd-7th, 2023. We are looking forward to recognizing hard working writers from all over the world who are creating art to change the world! Not only are we looking for awesome works with superb concepts and writing , but we are also looking for hardworking and passionate artists that tell captivating stories! We are especially eager to see work with themes of: LGBTQ+ issues, BIPOC storylines, healthcare and mental health stories, and stories for social change; however, all genres and themes are encouraged and welcomed! We are accepting submissions every 3 months (4 times/year), and then we will select winners! The winners of each category will get physical prizes AND their work will be read out loud by professional actors in the next season of our IMDb certified web series, The Fentress Readings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the filming of the readings will be 100% virtual and will be conducted over Zoom. This means we are accepting submissions from all over the world!! Yay!! We will also feature each selected writer, as well as the winners, on our website and social media. Our February 2022 edition (which is a special one year anniversary edition) came out today!! Woohoo! This edition of the magazine features 10 artists from all over the world: Florimond Le Goupil-Maier, Eduardo José Paco Mateo, Liam Hatch, Heidi Eikenhorst, Madyson DeJausserand, The Space Station, Grace Tshumamboya, and Valerie Griffin. Since we are celebrating one whole year of the Fentress Fanzine, this special edition features a brand NEW visual design! We are SO excited to get this festival started!! We are looking forward to recognizing hardworking filmmakers from all over the world who are creating art to change the world! The festival will be all this week, from January 3rd-8th, 2022 and will be 90% virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the festival will be mostly virtual, we will be hosting online events all week long so that the selected filmmakers can get to know each other, and so that the online community can engage with each filmmaker's work before the actual awards ceremony! We will also be hosting a very intimate in-person screening in Denver (USA) on Saturday, January 8th at 1pm EST!
